What is Adventure Travel? Well it means something different to everyone. For one person it may mean trekking Mt. Kilimanjaro, zip-lining in Costa Rica, or cycling in China; for another it may mean taking cooking classes in Italy, taking a river cruise on the Yangtze, or spotting wildlife in the Galapagos. Adventure Travel can mean backpacking and staying in hostels just as easily as it can be a 5 star hotel in Ireland or Paris. Here you will find something that is a bit out of the “ordinary”, really digging down to the cultures that create this wonderful world we live in. Cusco and the Inca Trail (8 days)At its most basic, the Inca Trail (Camino del Inca) was a footpath through the Andes leading directly to the gates of Machu Picchu. Contrary to its image as a lone, lost, remote city, Machu Picchu was not isolated in the clouds. It was the crown of an entire Inca province, as ruins all along the Inca Trail attest. Machu Picchu was an administrative center in addition to its other putative purposes. That larger purpose is comprehensible only to those who hike the ancient royal route and visit the other ruins scattered along the way to the sacred city. |

France – Bike and Barge (7 days)A cycling adventure in Burgundy. We have joined forces with a professional company who will provide the ground support for such our adventure. We present Bike/Barge in the Heart of Burgundy. Your journey begins in Dijon, the ancient capital of the Dukes of Burgundy. It is from here that you will depart along the Canal de Bourgogne westward. Each day you will have a choice of a shorter easy ride or a longer more difficult ride. You will cycle through vineyards and wander through stone villages, the namesakes of your favorite wines. At the end of each cycling day you will end up at your floating hotel which will move from mooring to mooring to be your traveling hotel. Each evening you will be treated to an evening meal prepared by the crew on board. |
