We present Bike/Barge in the Heart of Burgundy.
Your journey begins in Dijon, the ancient capital of the Dukes of Burgundy. It is from here that you will depart along the Canal de Bourgogne westward.
Each day you will have a choice of a shorter easy ride or a longer more difficult ride. You will cycle through vineyards and wander through stone villages, the namesakes of your favorite wines. At the end of each cycling day you will end up at your floating hotel which will move from mooring to mooring to be your traveling hotel. Each evening you will be treated to an evening meal prepared by the crew on board

- Accommodations aboard, a First Class French Canal Boat
- Full Board buffet breakfast, sack lunch and 3 course dinner.
- Bike rental including helmet and bike bag
- Tour guide that bicycles with the group (he does the longer more difficult rides)
- Route descriptions and maps for the easy shorter rides
- Transfers to and from the train station.

Day 1: Arrival Dijon and transfer to your floating hotel waiting at the port.
Welcome drink and orientation to boat. Dinner included.
Day 2: Dijon to Longecourt
Choice of two rides one 25 miles and one 40 miles. Discover the marvels of Dijon, the ancient capital of the Dukes of Burgundy before making way to the wine regions of the Clos de Vougeot. Here the monks of the Citeaux Abbey produced wine as early as the 12th Century. Scenic ride back to Caprice waiting for you in Longecourt moored near the Chateau.
The shorter route is via Corcelles-les-Monts with stunning views of the vineyards and the Jura Mountains, to the vineyards of Marsannay-la-Cote, Gevrey, Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot and on to Longecourt.
Day 3: Longecourt to Seurre (40 miles)
Begin by cycling into wine country via the villages of Abbaye de Citeaux. Visit the Cisterian Abbey founded in 1098. Then it is on to Nuits St Georges, Cprtpm. Savogny Les Beaune and finally the town of Beune itself, the wine capital of Burgundy. End the day in Seurre where Caprice is waiting.
Day 4: Seurre to Chalon- sur-Saone–choice of 16 miles or 47 mile rides
Ride to Bresse region famous for quality poultry. Then on to the riverside town of Tournus. This is a great town to explore. Finally it is back to Chalon the birthplace of photography. Shorter route does not go to Tournus.
Day 5: Chalon-sur-Saone to Chagny—two rides 25 miles or 50 miles.
We leave the river to cruise the Canal du Centre and it’s beautiful tow paths, excellent for riding.
Day 6: Chagny to St-Leger-sur-Dheune. 21miles or 30 mile ride today.
It is time for village exploration and the vineyards of the Chalonaise, Montrachet, and Santenay. There is a 13th century Chateau for a visit.
Day 7 Depart Caprice after breakfast.
Transfer from the boat where one can connect with main line trains to Paris or Lyon.
