TOUR DESCRIPTION
Day 1 Arrive at your St. Anthony area hotel
Day 2
Depart early for the Viking communities of Norstead and L’anse aux Meadows (a Unesco Heritage site). Spend some time in the orientation center followed by a guided tour of the site. You will then have time for exploring on your own. On your way back to the hotel drop by the Grenfell Centre and learn about some unique local history. Also make a short stop at Dark Tickle where they make delicious local food items for purchase.
Day 3
Leave this morning for Rocky Harbour. Along the way, we will stop at the Arches Provincial Park, plus other stops for photos and lunch. We recommend the Anchors Aweigh musical comedy night at 8 p.m.
Day 4
At your leisure, take a 1 hour drive to the Tablelands in Gros Morne Park (a Unesco Heritage site).You will stop at the Woody Point Research Centre, spending time before our guided tour of the area walking on the earth’s mantle.
Day 5
You have to depart at 9 a.m. for the 11a.m. Western Brooke Pond tour. There is a 45 min walk to the boat and back from the parking lot. If this is too much for you we offer the Bonne Bay cruise with Gros Morne sea views and other amazing sights.
Day 6
Leaving for Gander with a stop in Grand Falls Windsor at the Salmonid Center for lunch on the deck overlooking the falls. Take a “911” tour later in afternoon in Gander if available.
Day 7
Today you leave early to be dockside to board your ferry to Fogo Island. This place is a favourite for me with the beautiful places to see including Joe Batt’s Arm. Return to the ferry to drive back to the hotel in Gander.
Day 8
Leaving today for Twillingate, you cross Tickle and Runs on your day spent exploring this scenic area. There are many things to do. Tour the winery where you can start the day with lunch, museums, the lighthouse and many gift shops. In the evening if you wish at 5p.m enjoy drinks on the deck at the theatre, 6p.m. lobster dinner followed by the show 7-9p.m.
Day 9
Your drive today will take you through Terra Nova National Park. During the drive you can make stops along the way for photos and lunch.
Day 10
DO NOT FORGET YOUR PASSPORT!!!!
France is where you are headed today, St. Pierre and Miquelon. Our ferry leaves at 9a.m so we depart the hotel at 6:50 a.m sharp. We have a guided tour of the island and followed by free time to explore and to find a cafe for lunch. We will need to take the 5.30 p.m ferry back.
Day 11
Departing today you leave for your last stop, St. John’s. Scenic stops today and Bay Bulls boat tour available.
Day 12
Take a city and area tour this morning; Torbay, Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi village, The Battery, Cape Spear and Petty Harbour for lunch.
Day 13
Is George Street calling? The Rooms which is a very interesting museum is just a short walk from our hotel.
Day 14
Tour ends.
